LEGO Building Competition!!

Date: Friday April 28, 2017

Check-in Time: 5:30 - 5:50 PM

Competition Time: 6:15 PM

Location: McClure Middle School - 3660 Old Stilesboro Road NW

 

Students (2nd-12th grade) are invited to enter this Cobb County sponsored LEGO Building Competition. Each entrant will receive a basic LEGO set for the first level of competition. The top six builders in each heat will advance to a finalist round of competition and a chance to win a LEGO gift card. Attention 8th Grade Parents:

McClure 8th grade will be dancing the night away Hollywood style the evening of May 6th. Tickets are on sale on Thursday April 13th, Friday April 14th and April 18th in the 8th grade hallway for $10 before school. If you purchased a PTSA package in the beginning of the school year then your ticket was included. (Physical tickets were NOT distributed!!!) During ticket sales, we will provide a list of all the students that have already purchased a ticket. If you are unsure if your student has a ticket, please have them check the list during ticket sales.


General Guidelines

This is a special farewell dance for our eighth graders. This is not a high school prom.

The dance is for current McClure students only. You may not bring a date from another school. 

Dinner will not be served; however, a light snack will be provided.

Transportation should occur in normal fashion.  Limousines are not allowed.

The McClure tradition is for 7th grade parents to chaperone the dance.

Tickets must be pre-purchased for this event. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

 

 

McClure Art Show

The first annual McClure Art Show will be held April 1-26 at the Acworth Cultural Arts Center located at 4815B South Main Street, Acworth. The Center is open Wednesday – Saturday, from 3-7pm. There will be an Opening Reception, Saturday, April 1, 6-9pm. Awards Night will be Saturday, April 22, 6-8 at the Main Street Gallery.

6th Grade Maverick Store

The 6th grade will have their last Maverick Store, Friday, May 12, from 8:50-9:15am.  The students earn Maverick Money during the school day by going “above and beyond” what is expected.  The Maverick Store is a way for them to spend their hard earned Maverick dollars.  In order for the store to be a success we need your help. All the items sold at the store are donated by the parents.  Please see the Sign Up Genius below to volunteer and/or donate items. Please label all donations 6th Grade Maverick Store.

Media Center

The Media Center would love to have you as a volunteer and could really use your help! No experience is necessary.  Choose as many days as you’d like. Renaissance Program

The Renaissance Program is looking for $5 or $10 gift card donations to Starbucks, Chick FIL A , Brusters, ITunes, Yogli Mogli, etc. these are used for the Renaissance t-shirt giveaways on Fridays.  Please send these donations attention to The Renaissance Program / Caren Grotke or Tina Penny.  Donations are greatly appreciated!  Also, the Renaissance Festival will be on May 24, please look for volunteer options and donations in the coming weeks!  If you have any questions in regard to these events please contact Maria Bravo mbravo7168@gmail.com

COMMUNITY EVENTS

 

Kennesaw Mountain High School Band New Member Training Meeting

New Member Training is on Saturday, April 29th from 9:00am. – 5:00pm

(pizza lunch provided)

 All students interested in Kennesaw Mountain Band and Color Guard Should Attend.

·      Students should bring a refillable water bottle, and sunscreen.

·      Students should wear gym shorts, a t-shirt, and athletic shoes. 

There will be a Marching Band Commitment Meeting for parents and students at 5pm in the KMHS Cafeteria.

 

Harrison Hoyas Volleyball Camp
