Early Dismissal

Please be reminded that there are no early check-outs after 3:45.  This helps ensure a safe and orderly dismissal process. Please have patience this Friday afternoon, as there tends to be many early dismissal requests the day before a break. To help expedite the process, please send in a note with your student if you plan to pick them up early.

 

 

PTSA Nominating Committee

The 2017-18 PTSA Executive Board is specifically looking for a Co-Secretary. This person will share the secretarial responsibilities. It is a great way to get involved and be a part of the PTSA team. LEGO Building Competition!!

Date: Friday April 28, 2017

Check-in Time: 5:30 - 5:50 PM

Competition Time: 6:15 PM

Location: McClure Middle School - 3660 Old Stilesboro Road NW

 

Students (2nd-12th grade) are invited to enter this Cobb County sponsored LEGO Building Competition. Each entrant will receive a basic LEGO set for the first level of competition. The top six builders in each heat will advance to a finalist round of competition and a chance to win a LEGO gift card. Yogli Mogli has been moved to FRIDAY’S!!!! Please help support our Renaissance program by purchasing delicious Yogli Mogli for $3.00!

 

Attention 8th Grade Parents:

The 8th grade dance is Saturday, May 6th. As you start preparing for the dance, please be mindful of the dress code. See details below. Also, tickets will be on sale April 13,14 and 18 on the 8th grade hallway before school for $10. If you bought the PTSA bundle at the beginning of the year, the admission to the dance was included. (Physical tickets were NOT distributed!!!) During ticket sales, we will provide a list of all the students that have already purchased a ticket. If you are unsure if your student has a ticket, please have them check the list during ticket sales.

 

8th Grade Dance Dress Code:

Ladies:

  • May wear short or long dresses that are appropriate.

  • All dresses should be at least as long as the student’s longest fingertip as school dress code requires.

  • Spaghetti straps on dresses are acceptable

  • Strapless dresses and/or dresses with slits that are higher than dress code length should not be worn.

  • Backless dresses should not be worn

 

Gentlemen:

  • Should wear dress pants or khakis with a shirt and tie. Jackets may be worn, but are not required.

  • Tuxedos and shorts should not be worn to the eighth grade dance.

 

McClure Art Show

The first annual McClure Art Show will be held April 1-26 at the Acworth Cultural Arts Center located at 4815B South Main Street, Acworth. The Center is open Wednesday – Saturday, from 3-7pm. There will be an Opening Reception, Saturday, April 1, 6-9pm. Awards Night will be Saturday, April 22, 6-8 at the Main Street Gallery.

Renaissance Program

The Renaissance Program is looking for $5 or $10 gift card donations to Starbucks, Chick FIL A , Brusters, ITunes, Yogli Mogli, etc. these are used for the Renaissance Tshirt giveaways on Fridays.  Please send these donations attention to The Renaissance Program Caren Grotke or Tina Penny.  Donations are greatly appreciated!  Also, the Renaissance Festival will be on May 24, please look for volunteer options and donations in the coming weeks!  If you have any questions in regard to these events please contact Maria Bravo mbravo7168@gmail.com

Harrison Football Jr Program
