Volunteer Opportunities

The McClure PTSA serves the school in many ways, and we appreciate all of our volunteers who enable us to do so!  Please look for volunteer sign ups in the Maverick Minute eblast, or email mcclureptsa@gmail.com for more information.

Box Tops – Collects and submits Box Tops in October and February.  Chairperson – Tracey Brownlee

Candy Grams/Hat Days – Organizes volunteers to sell and distribute lollipops and candy grams before school in December and February.  For Hat/Athletic Wear Days, coordinates volunteers to stamp students’ hands who participate. Volunteers needed. Co-Chairs – Mariann Dewitt and Lana Pretelin

Communication – Communicates PTSA and school information via the PTSA website and weekly eblast.  Website Chairperson – Kelli Schrader & Maverick Minute Chairperson – Shae Smith

Community Outreach – Coordinates Thanksgiving food drive and other collections to support needs in the community.  Donations and volunteers needed.  Thanksgiving Food Drive Chairperson – Tracey Brownlee & Community Service Chairperson – Dondra Blackwell

Duty Free Lunch – Coordinates parents to monitor students in the cafeteria to allow teachers to enjoy a quiet lunch.  We provide Duty Free Lunch once a month; look for the Sign Up Genius in the Maverick Minute to volunteer.  Co-Chairs – Bethany Conlon and Elizabeth Johnson

Grade Level Events – Plans and executes a school social event at McClure. 6th and 7th grade events take place in the Fall.   The 8th grade event is the 8th grade dance in the Spring.

Healthy Living – Promotes healthy living to students throughout the year and/or organizes healthy living activities each day of one specific week. Chairperson – Danielle Watson

Hospitality – Helps plan events for Teacher Appreciation Week and other special treats for teachers during the year.  Many volunteers are needed to send in food items, decorate for special events, and serve on occasion. Co-Chairs – Jema Cowan and Tina Parker

Legislation and Advocacy – Keeps McClure parents informed of all legislation regarding education.  Chairperson – Sarah Baumhoff

Lost and Found – Keeps the lost and found closet organized and displays items periodically. Chairperson – Jessica Tiller

Membership – Runs PTSA membership drive, distributes membership cards, and keeps membership list current. Chairperson – Jennifer Farace

Olympics – Coordinates volunteers and other needs for the Field Day Week. Co-Chairs – Jema Cowan and OPEN

PBIS – Coordinates volunteers for reward days for the positive student behavior program.  Chairperson – Paige White

Red Ribbon Week – Coordinates activities during Red Ribbon Week.  Chairperson – Jessica Tiller

Reflections – Promotes the PTSA art contest.  Collects entries and assures guidelines were followed.  Secures judges and plans awards ceremony. Chairperson – Shae Smith

Spirit Wear – Designs Spirit Wear t-shirts.  Chairperson – Amy Valerio

STEM-A-Palooza – A fun night of STEM activities at McClure.  Many volunteers are needed to help with experiments, activities, food coordination, volunteer coordination, etc. Chairperson – Paige White

Teacher Grants – Coordinates teacher grant opportunities for classroom needs. Co-Chairs – Dana Nooney and Heather Placie

Trading Post (School Store) – Sells merchandise to students.  Store is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays before school. Co-Chairs – Michelle Burrows and Holly Houston
