MK Reflections 2018-19

Reflections Art Contest

Congratulations to 6th grade McClure student Melanie Koebel, who placed 2nd at the state level for her film entitled “Be A Hero.”

For updates on next year’s theme “Look Within” (2019-20) check the National PTA Reflections website.

Over 40 students participated in the 50th anniversary of the National PTA Reflections Program at McClure.  This year’s theme was “Heroes around me.”  They entered one or more of the following categories:

  • Visual Arts
  • Photography
  • Music Composition
  • Dance Choreography
  • Film Production
*Only original works of art could be accepted.

All students who entered were recognized at McClure’s Reflections Celebration on October 12 at 9:30 am.  The top two students in EACH category in EACH grade moved on to the Tom Mathis Council (regional) level. Twelve students placed there and ten moved on to the state competition! Don’t miss out on your chance to express yourself and be recognized in Reflections next year!

School Store

The McClure school store, called The Trading Post, is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:50-9:15 a.m.  The store sells fun trinkets, Tic Tacs, Mentos, and various school supplies such as flash drives, calculators, pens, pencils, colored pencils, Sharpies, notebooks, folders, tri-folds, and poster boards.  (Please note that there is a two candy limit per student per day.)

Band reeds and sandpaper are also available.

Purchasing from The Trading Post can be a great time saver for students, and any profits go directly to the PTSA to fund programs and activities such as Teacher Grants and STEM-A-Palooza.

NOTE: PBIS points are not accepted at the school store.
