McClure PTSA 8th Grade Dance Guidelines 2019
The 8th Grade Dance will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019. We need volunteers to help with planning and decorating. In addition, we need 7th grade parents to chaperone the event. If you want to help with this fun event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Attention Former McClure Middle School Students
We are excited to announce that the McClure Middle School PTSA will award the Susan Wing Scholarship (Mrs. Wing was the first principal of McClure) to a deserving senior who attended McClure Middle School for at least one year. This is a one-time, non-renewable $1,000.00 scholarship. To be eligible to receive this scholarship, the student must attend an accredited college, university, or trade school this fall.
The Susan Wing Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has exemplified and continues to build on the four words that served as the foundation for McClure Middle School during Mrs. Wing’s tenure – Encouraging, Enthusiasm, Excellence, and Ingenuity.
Applications are available from your high school guidance counselor or may be downloaded here.
Entries must be received in the front office of McClure Middle School or be postmarked no later than March 18, 2019.
For additional information, please contact: Tracey Brownlee.
Congratulations to 6th grade McClure student Melanie Koebel, who placed at the state level for her film entitled “Be A Hero.” Melanie will attend a reception soon to receive her award!
For updates on next year’s theme (2019-20) check the National PTA Reflections website.
Over 40 students participated in the 50th anniversary of the National PTA Reflections Program at McClure. This year’s theme was “Heroes around me.” They entered one or more of the following categories:
- Visual Arts
- Music Composition
- Dance Choreography
- Film Production
*Only original works of art could be accepted.
All students who entered were recognized at McClure’s Reflections Celebration on October 12 at 9:30 am. The top two students in EACH category in EACH grade moved on to the Tom Mathis Council (regional) level. Twelve students placed there and ten moved on to the state competition! Don’t miss out on your chance to express yourself and be recognized in Reflections next year!

Our hope is that the McClure PTSA will not have to hold an additional school-wide fundraiser during the school year. We will still continue with our effortless fundraising of Box Tops, Party America, Amazon Smile, and Sparkles Spirit Nights as well as smaller fundraisers like selling Candy Grams.
Please be sure to check the school website (http://www.cobbk12.org/McClure/), PTSA website (www.mcclureptsamail.com), and the McClure Middle School Facebook Page to see updates about our school!
